ANDI ATKINS | Registered Psychotherapist in Barrie

Sometimes life gives us more than we can handle alone. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, and an important step in taking charge of your well-being.

If you are reading this, you are likely seeking support for yourself or a loved one. You are not alone.

Like many others, I have struggled with depression, anxiety, and trauma. As a teenager and young adult, I was fortunate to have access to therapists who changed my life with their knowledge and compassion. I was inspired to earn a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, which I attained from McGill University in Montreal. Now I strive to help others using my education in psychology, my personal experiences, and more than 10 years of experience working and training in the mental health field.

I believe that everyone is complex, worthy, and resilient. With this in mind, I help teens and adults navigate life's challenges. I offer a caring and non-judgmental space where you are welcome to show up just as you are. Together we will seek to understand your unique personal story with curiosity and empathy.

We will discuss your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, develop effective coping strategies, and build on your strengths. Whether your goal is self-exploration, healing, improving your mental health, or living a more engaged and meaningful life, it would be my privilege to work with you.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I support individuals age 14 and up via in-person and telephone sessions.

What Can You Expect if You Work With Me?

I believe that the best approach to counselling is to create a professional relationship where you feel supported and heard. All of my clients are unique and so are their experiences. I am here for you and will offer my clinical skills and knowledge to best meet your needs. We will work together to create the changes you are seeking.  Some clients reach their goals after only a few sessions, while others take more time.

My office is located at 151 Essa Road (unit 201), right at the intersection of Essa Rd. and Anne St. It is a clean and relaxed environment shared with other therapists like myself. As you enter, there is a waiting area where you can help yourself to water or tea. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Asking for help takes bravery- I truly appreciate your willingness to take this step.

I charge $170 (no tax) per 50 minute individual counselling session (phone or in-person). I look forward to working with you. You can contact me at andi@lindsaytsang.com
